TrueTone fetches a video's captions the moment it loads, matches them against your enabled categories and custom words once, and builds a mute schedule up front — playback never re-scans text, it just checks the current time against that schedule.
Each matched word gets its own estimated start and end time from the caption data, so only that word is muted — not the whole line it's part of. A small, automatic timing adjustment compensates for that estimate so the right word gets caught reliably.
